Carrie & David Wedding ... and little William's Blessing

On Saturday, 23 September 06, my dear friend Carrie married David at the Mosman Rower's Club ... their little son, William was also blessed in a naming ceremony ... here are some of the photos from the night!! It was a great celebration of love, friendship and family!

KWC - Jesus Uncut : Meeting the Real Jesus : 16-17 September 2006

Just this last weekend, a bunch of St Matts girls from all the different congregations went to the Katoomba Women's Convention for some encouragement, challenge, inspiration and fun fellowship! I was recovering from a respiratory tract infection which had kept me in bed for 3 days so I was not on top form but it was a pleasure to relax in the company of so many wonderful women and share our lives as we walk with God! The speakers were inspiring and challenging to the core as they gave us a view into the "Uncut" version of Jesus ... the real Jesus and not just the one that we like to create to fit our own little way of living! Greta challenged us to understand that we need to know who we are and how we stand before God before we really know him because we stand judged by his living and active Word (Hebrews 4:12-16). We need to confess, repent and move on and stop hiding from God and not allow ourselves to be distracted into complacency, but we need to stand confident because of what Jesus has done for us. We also need to trust in God and to fix our eyes on Jesus so that we can run our race with a focus and endurance to the end. We were also reminded that pain teaches us to respect God because God does not make mistakes ... and most of all, we need to "never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God". Right thinking rejuvenates the soul and discipline, pain and sin must not deafen us to what God is saying to us ... and we must not forget that he loves us ... deeply! How amazing to be able to come freely to our Creator and place all our burdens at the foot of the cross ... what a privilege!

On Saturday, I had lunch with two of my dearest friends who I used to work with in different organisations and we had some special time with Carrie's little William who, as you can see, is just too adorable for words ...
