A-Team Hamburg : 14-19 October 2007

On Sunday, 14 October, 6 of us left for Hamburg to participate in an A-Team (Action Team). The purpose of our A-Team was to assist in an evangelistic outreach to university students at Hamburg University. We distributed nearly 2,450 flyers inviting students to attend a seminar on how to have successful studies and also spent time chatting with students about life, their beliefs and everything else. It was a really challenging time as most people are not too keen to get into deep conversations with complete strangers who don't even speak their language. On Tuesday, 2 others from the ship joined us. We performed drama skits, introduced ourselves at a dinner gettogether and also at a combined meeting of all the Christians working on campus and I gave my missions testimony with the assistance of a German translator. We also did a walking tour of the city which was lovely and our tour guides were great fun. We are very excited now because about 10 of the team from Hamburg will be coming to visit the ship next Saturday so we have formed really good friendships with them all and look forward to encouraging them to continue being bold in sharing their faith and reaching the students on campus for Christ. Here are some of the memories from the time we had in Hamburg ...
