A State of Mind ...

For approximately, 3 months now, I have been attending a church called "Sydney Life Church" ... and I've been learning heaps from Pastor Tom Inglis who has such a practical and life applicable message ... so I'm going to share a few insights that I have taken from Pastor Tom's messages with you ...

Jesus came to give us life ... the same kind of life as he had from God and God wants us to have a quality of life equal to his ...

John 10:10 says "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

The devil will come and lie to us and remind us of how many times we have fallen but the potential to live the life of abundance that God promised ("to the full") has already been given to us and the devil can do nothing if you have a renewed mind.

The state of your mind dictates the quality of your life ... your mind dictates how much blessing you get from God and how much abuse you get from the devil. You decide the quality of life that you want and then apply the word of God to get it by renewing your mind. A lot of focus has been on church growth at the expense of mind growth which is leading to backsliders. If the Word of God is not being renewed in your mind, the devil will attempt to influence your mind with his lies.

John 8:31-32 says "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Anyone who has returned to slavery did not know what freedom looked like because that is the truth.

Psalm 19:7-11 says "The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward."

The Word of God will get you through every time because the law of the Lord is perfect reviving the soul. Knowledge of God's word is essential because it changes your life and imparts truth. Secular knowledge is good but it does not change the soul. Press into the excellence of the knowledge of Christ. God is dealing with individuals right now and you have to renew your mind.

When the mind is renewed, the life of God is manifested to you in a shortened time. The end time revival will be maintained because people have renewed their minds. Your acceleration is based on the bible. "The more you know, the faster you go!"

Through knowledge, you can have grace (devine work in a person's life) and peace (devine presence in a person's life) multiplied unto you. If you avoid the Word, you're sourcing something inferior to God and God is missing out on your fellowship.

Every successful attack against a woman or man of God is "knowledge starvation" related ("Word Malnutrition").

When you have a problem, go to the Word of God and find a peace - you may not have the solution, but you have a peace. When Jesus was tempted, he said "It is written ... It is written ..." and his life was not tempted again until the Garden.

If your mind is not renewed, you will become highly susceptible to temptation. In Luke 11:52, Jesus warned against taking away the key of knowledge.

Jesus said : "Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge." (Luke 11:52)

The quality of life that you enjoy is important to God and Jesus died to give you that quality of life.
