Easter 2008

Wishing you all a very Blessed and Happy Easter for 2008!!

Our weekend began with a Communion service on board the Logos Hope on Thursday night which I found to be very moving. On Friday, we had a day of prayer and reflection and had a service in the morning at 9.00am and again at 3.00pm in remembrance of Jesus' death on the cross. Saturday, a fellow crewman, David and I were invited by our German teacher Kaja to join her, her husband, Peter at her parent's home for a traditional German Easter Bonfire night. It was so much fun!! We had a delicious homemade tea party with about 25 people and then, we went out into the freezing cold, but beautiful, garden and stood around a massive bonfire, singing songs, dancing around the fire and then stuck bread dough on sticks and baked them before putting some snags on the "BBQ" along with some jacket potatos! It was unlike any BBQ I've ever been to before but it was a hoot of fun!

This morning, Sunday, I attended a sunrise service on Deck 9 of the LH - it was amazing to see that the storm from the previous 2 days had blown over and the sea was now completely flat and calm ... and the sun actually came out and we had blue skies all day however, an icy, biting wind picked up later in the afternoon which kept the mercury under 5 degrees!! In the afternoon, I went for a walk with some friends along the promenade and it was absolutely freezing!!!

After this service, we had a little snooze before going for a late brunch and then attending the family service at 11.00am. After lunch, I spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying time over dinner and hanging out with friends and tomorrow is also a day of rest and relaxation for everyone with a big celebration party in the evening!

Hallelujah ... Jesus Christ is our Risen Saviour!!
